We have started to train industrial mechanics again. The idea to restart the industrial mechanic training programme at nass magnet was first floated around two years ago. At this time, we had to face up to the task of keeping pace with the constant growth of special machinery manufacturing. The focal points of industrial mechanic training are a better match for our requirements than, for example, toolmaker training specialising in moulding technology, which was the main training programme we used to offer in the field of mechanics. The links between tool manufacturing and special machinery manufacturing have changed to such a great extent over recent years that in future we will have to reflect this shift in training.

During the most recent negotiations with IG Metall regarding remuneration levels, it was almost as if the human instinct for self-preservation by suppressing unpleasant memories had taken hold. All those times of crisis (which were overcome by working together) in which the focus was squarely on security and retaining jobs seemed to have been forgotten. For a very long time, the economic barometer accurately forecast positive trends. So most people found it hard to imagine that this trend might be reversed and that there might be tough times ahead.

The new solenoid valve (3/2 way NC) is to be used in a pneumatic control unit. This controls different pneumatic cylinders in heavy goods vehicles, which in turn are connected with the gearbox mechanics. This replaces a hand on the gear lever, so to speak. In addition, the valve primarily serves to save fuel and keep emissions in commercial vehicles below threshold values in future.

Laboratory work at nass magnet may — as the title suggests — seem secretive to some employees. This raises the question: „What exactly does the laboratory at nass magnet do?“ We would like to take this opportunity to introduce the laboratory in a little more detail.

From the 11th to the 14th July, the city of Veszprém in Hungary, located close to Lake Balaton, once again became an important centre for cultural events. This year was particularly special because the VeszprémFest was celebrating its 15th anniversary! To mark the occasion, many different national and international artists and famous musicians were once again in attendance for 2018.
